The Holy Spirit

But when the Father sends the Advocate as my Representative - That is the Holy Spirit -
He will teach you everything and remind you of everything I have told you.
Jesus Christ

I must confess to a fear of the Holy Spirit. A fear that I will not live up to the promises I made to our Father and the Lord. The Holy Spirit is always there, always watching and protecting you. You have free will, our Father ensured that but with free will comes responsibility. Responsibility for you own choices and actions. How many times have you looked to the Heavens and asked " Why Lord, why me"? I've lost count at the number of times in my life that I did this. We are all products of our past, of our upbringing and as such our life choices are made from our history. A striking example is that a child from an abusive and broken home will go out in life and find an abusive or broken partner. We are all effected by our history but Union with Jesus will help overcome the past. He will give you the strength to face up to your history and find forgiveness.

The healing is a very brutal affair, years of pain are there festered into a an awful mess. When I was counselling I spend months dancing around the root of my problem. I would not allow myself to see it. Then came the birth of my 2nd grandchild and will her my final stages of healing. Had it not been for her arrival, I may have spent years trying to to to the root my my problems.

The Holy Spirit will help you and teach you in the ways of the new testament. He will communicate through your conscience and heart. It starts as a fleeting and gentle whisper but as you learn more the voice his voice becomes stronger. He will direct you and help you make the right choices but again it is up to you...Free will.

Ask of the Holy Spirit and he will show you. He will guide you to salvation the only obstacle is you and your past. His teaching are always remembered as he uses events in your life to bring the lesson home.

I know now that even in my deepest, darkest moments our Father has been there. I have felt him, the sad thing is that I did not recognise him. He did not plan for me to have the childhood I had, that was the choice of others and their free will. He made sure that he was their to help and heal me when I finally found him.
